گاهی اوقات در پایان نظر موافقمان، short tag قرار می‌دهیم. برای tag ها از سوالاتی که پاسخشان بله یا خیر است (a Yes / No question form) استفاده می‌کنیم. در صورتی که نظرمان مثبت باشد، معمولا از شکل منفی تگ استفاده می‌کنیم، برای مثال:
A: It’s a lovely day.
B: Yes, it is, isn’t it?
A: Your grandmother looks very well.
B: Yes, she does, doesn’t she?
A: Everybody really enjoyed the trip.
B: Yes, they did, didn’t they?
اگر نظرمان منفی باشد، معمولا از شکل مثبت تگ استفاده می‌کنیم:
A: They didn’t seem to enjoy the trip very much.
B: No, they didn’t, did they?
A: It’s not a very nice day.
B: No, it isn’t, is it?
A: They haven’t done much.
B: No, they haven’t, have they?
گاهی اوقات در پایان جمله، حرفمان را با یک تگ تمام می‌کنیم، برای مثال:
It’s a lovely day, isn’t it?
Your grandmother looks very well, doesn’t she?
They haven’t done much, have they?
They all seemed to enjoy the trip, didn’t they?
